Kōhī Point Dusk Spring Equinox Hikoi

  • Kapu Te Rangi Historic Reserve Kohi Point Lookout Rd New Zealand (map)

A perfect way to end Conservation Week and say goodbye to Winter. Join HALO Whakatāne volunteers for a walk along the Ngā Tapuwae o Toi (The footsteps of Toi), walkway above the heads. There will be a korero about the history of Kapu-te-Rangi (Pā of Gentle Breezes); one of the oldest known pā sites in the country.

Hopefully on our journey we will experience the return of the Kuia (grey face petrel), from the ocean and maybe even hear a kiwi call as it emerges from its burrow.
